22 Dec 04 On The Road Again

Damn… maybe it’s just been a while since I’ve driven, or the fact that European cars are so much smaller than their US counterparts, or the fact that the road plans for Birmingham were drawn out by a 2-year old child struck with severe case of A.D.D., but driving around this city is MENTAL compared to my previous experiences. There are cars going in all directions (occasionally including up and down), roundabouts, traffic lights, and roundabouts with traffic lights every couple of hundred yards along the way until you manage to get out of Birmingham, and that’s not even counting roadworks, detours, and other unplanned distractions.

Oh well… we’re slowly getting used to it. Anyway, we’re off to Norway tomorrow, so the next entry might be from over there! woohoo!

Btw, did you hear the one about the dyslexic devil-worshipper?
He sold his soul to santa!

Ho Ho Ho!

    Hehe,

Just an aside, people from brumpton call roundabouts trafic islands :S. Just adds to the confusion, especailly if you ask them directions. Ye have been warned!!!!!!

By the way in case you forget again, in the UK when a road is closed off and there are roadworks going on and large parts of the road missing you dont turn into that road….. (Houston in Spring of 2002)
