Decent Days And Nights

Posted in Uncategorized at 9:37 pm by GaZ

This is a brand new problem, a problem without any clues
If you know the clues it’s easy to get through…

But you look confused and you dont know what to do
Its hard to get an answer when you havent got a clue
If you want to make a guess you should know its not a game
’cause you’ll never get a chance to make another guess again
If you work it out tell me what you find

Decent Days and Nights by The Futureheads

Su Doku fun AKA what I did this weekend when I wasn’t doing anything else.

As I mentioned last time, Hanne and I spent the weekend relaxing in Tremadog. Saturday (my birthday! yay. Thanks for all the birthday wishes, everyone) was a laid-back affair… after a late start, Mamgu, Tom, Hanne and I went down to the local for lunch, followed by an afternoon of lounging in the sun and a walk up in the mountains near the local reservoir. In the evening we all went down to the new restaurant on the corner (which, despite already being very popular, does not yet have a website!) courtesy of mum and dad.

On Sunday Hanne and I helped the Porthmadog Rotary running a small fete near Criccieth beach. There were already quite a few volunteers, so Hanne and I just helped to keep an eye on the bouncy castle and slide, making sure the youngsters didn’t get too excited and bounce off into the sea. We also got badly sunburnt… it’s been so long since i’ve had to think about wearing sunscreen. Randomly, only ONE of my toes got burnt, on the middle of my left foot. I don’t know what’s so special about that toe, but come Monday morning it was a very bright purple, while the rest stayed pastey-white :-

Anyhoo… so on Monday we popped over to see the local osprey. These birds make an annual commute of over 3,000 miles to and fromt Western Africa, and still make it back to the exact same spots when they return! I be they have GPS hidden somewhere under their 5 1/2ft wingspans. After that we had a quick lunch and started the long drive back to Brum. Fortunately we missed the bum-rush of holidaymaker traffic, however I missed our turnoff on the M6, forcing us to take a small detour alllll the way around the city. doh!

Anyway… time to get some sleep for work tomorrow.

and God said: “Let there be Broadband”

… and there was broadband, and the broadband was fast.

And it only took 33 days to transfer from one house to the next! The inept, monopolistic sloth that is British Telecom sure took their time on that one.

There’s plenty to mention that has happened over the past month, but rather than write a long(er) entry right now i’ve gotta pack coz Hanne and I are off to Wales for the bank holiday weekend!

PS It’s 27C outside! WOOHOO!…. *melt*
