Still Here!
Yes, I am still here. I just haven’t been very good at keeping this site up to date, but neither have several other people who shall remain unnamed! But two wrongs don’t make a right. So here’s a quick breakdown over the happenings of the past few months.
So back in August our car stereo was nicked. We got a new one with a proper iPod adapter, which makes those long car journeys to Wales / London that much easier! Later that same month I found out that someone had been using my debit card number to purchase perfume and Ryanair flights online. The perfume was to be sent to somewhere in Italy, however Ryanair said the tickets (£650 worth!) had been purchased in Scotland… hmm. Anyway, Barclays gave me a new card and my money back. No word on whether anyone was ever caught as a result. So then, because bad things always happen in threes, Hanne and I also got a ridiculously high electricity bill. Long story short, we hadn’t been doing our meter readings regularly, so we ended up having to pay for almost 12 months of usage all in one. Doh! Since then I’m trying to crack down on our usage, despite Hanne’s best efforts to sabotage the endeavour.
But it’s not all doom and gloom around here. Ian and Esther got married, had a great wedding / honeymoon, and moved to their shiney new house not too far from us in Erdington! Dale and Laura have also started renting an apartment in the area, as has Bournisco. The Erdington Massive is growing in numbers! Dave and I also joined mum and dad at the end of August for a long weekend of hiking in the Pyrenees, which was awesome! The pictures are all a bit crap since I only had my camera phone, and I only started taking pictures on the last day as we were driving back to the airport. Doh!
So back to the present… Hanne’s parents are visiting this weekend. Yesterday Liv and Hanne went to the annual cat show over at the NEC, so Knut and I went down to ze German market in Victoria square, and stuffed ourselves with German food and drink. Yum yum *hic*! Today we visited Stratford-Upon-Avon. Last time I was there was for Odskitche back in 2001, however not much has changed over the past 5 years. Funnily enough, Hanne’s parents even chose to eat lunch in the same pub that Hesam and I visited for a drink way back then.
Anyway… that’s all for now! Hopefully I’ll do another update in the not-too-distant future.
